Encrypt Your Notes

Data sent from the Notecard to Notehub.io has always been transmitted off the public internet, via private VPN tunnels, and encrypted using TLS. To add an additional layer of security you can now encrypt the body of your Notefiles. Read the blog post for a quick summary, see it in action on Hackster, and dive in with the guide:

SparkFun Notecarrier

SparkFun has released their first Notecarrier: the Qwiic Cellular Notecarrier. While personally I love the “spaceship” look 🚀 this Notecarrier provides some great features:

• Dual Qwiic connectors
• SMA connectors for cellular and GPS antennas
• Headers for accessing Notecard pins

Far Away Fires

Few of us in the US and Canada can miss the hazy skies and poor air quality due to wildfires burning in the west. A citizen scientist had an Airnote air quality sensor actively recording data, including measurements of fine particulate matter.
