What’s that? An IoT solution without a host? As the Notecard firmware matures, we can start to take advantage of new capabilities that don’t require a host MCU to function (see an example project below!).

I’d also like to spotlight some new Hackster projects created by our community, like this near-shore ocean buoy 🌊, a way to analyze flight log data in the air ✈️, and building an inexpensive kid tracker 🧒.

Power Outage Detector

Speaking of host-free development, this power outage detector uses a Notecard to send SMS alerts with Twilio when USB power is cut. It uses the new autonomous reporting of GPIO state feature in the latest Notecard firmware.

Consumption Credits

To help simplify pricing, we are eliminating fees on Notehub projects and users! Going forward, Notehub accounts will use "consumption credits" that customers can pre-purchase to use how they want, when they want, with no expiration.
